I.C.E DATACENTERS senior management team directs commercial and technical operations across eight datacenter locations in Montreal (under the Metro Optic brand) and in Toronto at 151 Front Street and at I.C.E DATACENTERS Markham. The two flagship facilities are at 875 St. Antoine, a leading interconnection site in downtown Montreal, and most recently at I.C.E DATACENTERS Toronto in Markham. Clients include global Fortune 500 enterprises in e–commerce, technology, finance, healthcare, media and government.
Meet the Team
Chief Executive Officer
Michael has over 20 years of executive-level experience in developing and managing digital infrastructure in the datacenter, cloud and communications industries.
Prior to his responsibilities at I.C.E Datacenters and Metro Optic, he was Chief Executive Officer of FiberMedia Group, a multi-regional datacenter provider with 7 datacenters in New York, New Jersey, Ohio and London, UK. Prior to FiberMedia, Michael was responsible for corporate development as well as C-Labs at Consonus Technologies, a leading multi-regional datacenter and IT services provider in the Southeastern and Western US. Michael also spent six years with GE Capital in Stamford, CT, where he built and managed a $70MM IT services business.
Dan has over 35 years of operating experience in the communications, Internet and datacenter industry. Dan is the Founder and President of Metro Optic, a Montreal-based operator of high-speed fiber networks and datacenters in Montreal. Prior to that, he was working in the IT industry with Amdahl Corporation in technical, management and sales roles, where he had responsibility for over $30 million of direct customer revenue. Dan has also worked in the hi-tech financing and leasing industry with direct responsibility for over $50 million of business. Dan sits on the board of the Quebec Internet Exchange.
Vice President of Network Engineering and Operations
Philippe has been working in the telecom world for the past 20+ years in different technical and managerial roles.
Philippe has held both managerial and operational roles with leading innovators in the Canadian telecom industry for the past 20+ years. From HFC Network tech at Cable Axion and Cable VDN, passing through enterprise network operations, provisioning and architecture with MTO Telecom, and finally NOC & Field services manager and network architect at Cogeco before joining the Metro Optic and I.C.E Datacenters team.
Nicholas Dumesnil CPA, CA
Vice President of Finance
Nicholas was previously Assistant Controller at CBG (a joint venture owned by Rio Tinto Alcan and Alcoa, the site being one of the largest producers of bauxite (aluminium ore) in the world in Guinea, Africa. He was responsible for the production and analysis of financial statements, financial controls and the supervision of 14 employees. Prior to that, Nicholas worked at PwC’s Montreal office as a Senior External Auditor.
Vice President of Datacenter Technology and Operations
Bill has overall responsibilities for datacenter development and management at I.C.E Datacenters. He has extensive experience as a Datacenter Senior Technical Authority, having performed hundreds of datacenter assessments, managed several datacenter construction projects (design/build), and was in charge of running and implementing Datacenter Facility Operations for clients like Bell and Rogers. Over the years, he has worked and consulted for several leading datacenter and network operators across Canada.
Vice President of Sales
As VP of Sales for I.C.E Datacenters, Tamara Backus, is responsible for sales, channel initiatives and strategic growth opportunities. With over 12 years of leadership experience in data centre and network sales with leading Canadian providers, Tamara has deep knowledge and commitment to building long-term, strategic customer and channel partner relationships on a global basis.
Director of Business Development
Simon joined I.C.E Datacenters to further develop enterprise sales as well as strategic sales channel relationships. Prior to being appointed Business Development Director, Simon was a senior sales executive at Kolotek and HumanIT. He has also worked in the telecom industry, notably for Groupe Télécom and UUNet Canada.
Vice President of Wholesale and Carrier Relations
Elisabeth has 18 years of experience in sales and operations in the telecommunications and datacenter industries. Prior to I.C.E Datacenters, Elisabeth held sales positions of increasing responsibility with Microcell, Bridgepoint International and for Peer1 Network where she was responsible for the sales team and operations of the Montreal datacenter.
